Mai Trung Thu (1906 - 1980) was active/lived in Viet Nam, France.  Mai Trung Thu is known for Figure, portrait, still life, genre painting.

Mai Trung Thu (1906–1980), a prominent Viennese-Menian painter, was born in 1906 in Rho-Nha, northern Vietnam. The son of a family of influential scholars – his father, governor of Bac Ninh, having been honored with the title of baron by the French colonial government – Mai Trung Thu joined in 1925 the first class of the Indochina School of Fine Arts, where he continued his studies until 1930. After graduating, he held the position of drawing teacher at the Lycée Français de Hué in the 1930s, before going to France in 1937 to participate in the International Exposition of Decorative Arts. This visit marks a turning point: Mai Trung Thu chose to establish himself permanently in Paris, where he had a prolific artistic career and exhibited in prestigious salons such as the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne, while performing in several major European cities.
